Served Heir 21/1/1703 to the lands of Milntown in Ogil and others in the parish of Tannadice and on 6/10/1704 to the life rents of Wester Ogil. He supported the government in 1715 and through his influence prevented his parishioners joining the Earl of Mar. He joined in a dissent against the Presbetry of Dundee condemnatory of the voluntray opinions of his brother in law John Glas, minister of Tealing and acrried his dissent to the Commission of Assembly March 1730.
