Lance Corporal Alfred Walter SCOONES, 4424, 9th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment

Died on 26th September 1915.    Age 27.    Remembered at the Loos Memorial.

The brother of Mrs Ethel Mitchell of Battersea.       Born 1888 Kensington and enlisted in Battersea.


Serjeant Archibald John SCOONES, 926316, D Battery, 290th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

Died on 23rd March 1918.    Age 31.    Remembered at the Pozieres Memorial.

The son of  Edward H and Kate Scoones of Maidenhead.       Enlisted in Lewisham and resident in Lancing, Sussex. 


Signalman Charles Edward SCOONES, 2598205, Royal Corps of Signals (attd 6th Indian Div Sigs, Indian Signal Corps)

Died on 7 November 1944.     Buried at Basra War Cemetery.

The son of William Claydon and Ethel Scoones and husband of Gwendoline Joan Scoones of Hereford.


Rifleman Christopher James Philip SCOONES, 4201, 7th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles.

Died of wounds 24th November 1917.   Age 37.    
Buried at Grevillers British Cemetery.

The husband of Alice J Scoones (nee Le Long) of St Helier.     Born and enlisted in St Helier.


Second Lieutenant Earl Foster SCOONES, 13th Battalion, The King's (Liverpool Regiment).

Died 23rd November 1916.    Age 26.    Buried at Bertrancourt Military Cemetery.

The son of Arthur Victor and Mary Evelyn Scoones of Merton Park, Surrey.


Second Lieutenant Fitzmaurice Valentine SCOONES, 3rd Battalion, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders).fvscoones

Died 18th August 1916.    Age 20.     Buried at Cromarty Cemetery.     b 1895 Cheltenham.   

Son of Maj Fitzmaurice Thomas Favre Scoones and Florence Scoones (nee Osborne).


Sapper George W SCOONES, 1914005, Royal Engineers.

Died 27th January 1940.   Age 47.  

 Buried at Bienvillers Military Cemetery. 


Private George Henry SCOONES, 1018, 9th Battalion, Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

Died 28th June 1915.   Age 19.    Buried at Beach Cemetery, Gallipoli.       Stone

Son of Henry James and Hester Flora Scoones of Red Hill, Brisbane.     Native of Adelaide.


Rifleman Henry William SCOONES, 301286, 5th Battalion, London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade)

Died 1st July 1916.   Age 28.    Buried at Gommecourt British Cemetery No 2.

Son of Edward H and Kate M Scoones of Walthamstow.    

Enlisted in London and resident in Bethnal Green.
